After our very wet summer, we're back in full swing and say a very warm welcome to our new pre-schoolers: Imogen Bowey, Angus Loughrey, Robert Machin, Annabelle Millar, Zachary Rolfe and Freya Root. We miss those who left us last term but hope they are enjoying their first term of school. Good luck to Sam Arrowsmith, Adam Cole, Ruby Downing-Martin, Jessica Hayman, Niamh Higgins, Nathan Hodges, William Machin, Anne Marie Pyne, Elizabeth Shaul, Ben Simpson, Molly Upton and Edward Waugh.

Pre-school children have been busy busy busy over the last couple of months: The arrival of a Fire Engine plus four firemen caused much excitement, and that wasn't just amongst the children! No fires I hasten to qualify; the visit was purely educational and the children toured the engine and used the hoses.

Sun cream and hats have made a debut for the children as they start to enjoy the warmer months. The outdoor play area is a huge hit and the large outdoor blackboard and beautifully painted 'Erin's House' are both very popular activities. Themes for this term have included our planet, what things are made of, recycling, eating healthily and looking after the environment. By the time you read this, the children will have been visited by some donkeys from the Donkey Sanctuary.

Spring seems to have arrived in a rather blustery way, but the children are enjoying playing outside when the weather is favourable.
Our open day was a success, with new parents having the opportunity to look around the Pre School and ask the staff questions. We hope to make this a regular event, so please remember to tell your friends!

Christmas seems along time ago now! The new term seems well underway! There are fewer children per session at the moment, although this should increase again by the spring.

Although the summer term seems to have been wetter than the spring. It hasn't dampened the children's enthusiasm for events and activities. Themes this term have continued to look at habitats, including, sea, hedgerows, sky, and polar regions. The children have also been learning about each others favorite stories and pets.

How the Year seems to be flying by! The summer term is now in full swing and the children have been enjoying the sunshine. Outside play proves very popular and helps release the excess energy that little bodies make!! Whilst inside, the children have been learning about Easter, Experiences and the environment in which they live. Once again it is time for 'spring planting'! Beans, sunflowers and cress are all being carefully watched and nurtured on kitchen windowsills by budding horticulturists! Great excitement when the first shoots appear and a cress sandwich can be shared!

Fundraising, of course, continues, there is still a lot to be done to complete our own outside play area and put the finishing touches to our building. Long term fundraising will soon hopefully will be able to focus on more specific items. Many of our toys need replacing and now that the years of fundraising for premises are nearing an end, we shall be looking at updating more specific items to benefit the environment that the children play in, as well as contributing to the daily running of the Pre School.
